Winter is a tough time time for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, as blood donations drop off and blood stocks become dangerously low.

The services’ Kathy Bowlen told postscript.com.au that the service needs to attract new donors over the colder months, as winter ills like colds and flu make it harder for regular blood donors to give their blood.
